Attack Speed Guide

What is attack speed (ASPD)?

Attack speed is one of the core character stats in Eterspire.

Warriors and Guardians have a base ASPD of 205.

Rogues have a slightly higher base ASPD of 215.

How can I increase it?

Attack speed can be increased or decreased through equipment. Armor pieces can have -% or +% attack speed rolls. Your attack speed roll will depend on RNG, but certain types of equipment can have more than others, such as excellent boss gear compared to normal gear.

Does my total attack speed number matter?

Yes it does.. (somewhat)!

Through research and testing, we have found what we call attack speed breakpoints.

Say for example, you’re fighting a monster with 100hp. You do 50 damage a hit.

Typically, you may expect it look like this:

  1. You do 50 damage to the monster.
  2. The monster does 50 damage to you.
  3. You do 50 damage to the monster.
  4. The monster has died.

Imagine if you attacked fast enough so that you attacked the monster twice before it hit you once! Pretty cool right?

The attack speed necessary to achieve that is what we call the attack speed breakpoint.

It is the attack speed whereby you will always hit an enemy monster multiple times before you take damage.

TL;DR: Attack Speed Breakpoints

The breakpoints are as follows.

2-hits: 210 Total Attack Speed

3-hits: 410 Total Attack Speed

4-hits: The exact value is unknown (my estimate is 610) as the listed maximum attack speed is 565. However, if you have at least 52% ASPD from gear, all attack speed skills (excluding quick feet), and a dagger with at least 10% ASPD, you can achieve the 4-hit by using the SS buff and then equipping the aforementioned dagger.

*Keep in mind that the closer you get to that breakpoint (say 190 ASPD, or 395 ASPD), the more likely you are to land multiple attacks before receiving one.
